Setting Up Amazon Affiliate Program Links Widgets aStore

You will want to sign-up for Amazon affiliate program if you haven't already. Amazon associates takes about 2 days to approve your account. Then they will send you an approval email with your associate ID that is addigned to you. This Amazon associate ID is used to let Amazon.com know who referred this person to their website, so they will get the commission for the sales. Make sure this associate ID is always in your links or you will not get the commission for that sale. If you follow the steps below to setup and use Amazon affiliate widgets your Amazon associate ID will automatically be placed in your links for you. There are many Amazon widgets you can use on your website or blog. I will not go over every single one as there are currently 22 of them. After you have worked with the ones I will give you the directions for you should be able to setup and use the other Amazon affiliate widgets on your own. Sometime in the future I may place instructions on setting up more Amazon widgets, so remember to check back soon, and as always if you have any questions you can always place them on my business help forum and myself or someone else may answer your questions.

1. Login to Amazon associates
2. Click on Build Links/Widgets under the tool section on the left hand side.
3. Now you will have a list of 22 different widgets you can use. You probably will not use all of these, but you can read the descriptions of each one to see what each of them does. The one I will show you how to use is called Text Links. So scroll down until you find the widget called Text Links and click on it.
4. Most of Amazon's widgets are very similar to setup, you basically tell the widget what products, or product type you want, maybe select a size if the ad/banner has different sizes, then you get some HTML code to copy and paste onto your website.
5. For this Text Links Widget you will now have 3 different ways you can create Text Links:
   1. Link to Favorite Destinations - which is basically linking them to a category of products. Example: Apparel Accessories
   2. Link to Search Results - Just like it sounds, you can have them go to a search result page for say "Business Supplies", maybe something more specific "Business Briefcase", or even more specific "Samsonite Business Briefcase".
   3. Link to Any Page at amazon.com - Same as it sounds, you can use this widget to link to any specific page on amazon.com by just going to the website as if you were a buyer, copy the link in your address bar, paste it here. Example: Lenovo/IBM Business Laptops
6. The one I will go over first and show you how to use is Link to Search Results tool, the reason being this one helps your internal search engine optimization a little. Helps SEO because the search robots will look and see what websites you are linked to, what is on those websites, so they go here and see a search result for a ton of business computers, and keywords related to business computers, so it will bump you up a bit higher in the search results for that term if that's what your site is about, instead of linking to a single product and it only seeing 1 of them and very little keywords.
7. In the first box select the category of products you would like to use, then enter the keywords for products you want to search for like: business computers then in the Name you Link type in the words that you want clickable, most likely something like business computers.
8. Click Get HTML button on the right hand side. This will take you to a new page with the HTML code we need to place on your website to create this link
9. Click Highlight HTML button, this will turn the HTML code in the box blue showing it is highlighted
10. Now place your mouse over top of this amazon HTML code and right click and go to copy. This will copy the HTML code to clipboard on your computer you can not see.
11. Login to your website or blog, and follow the instructions for adding HTML code to your website or blog, but real quick for a blog, open your post/page you want this link in, click on HTML at top right, then paste this code where you want it.
