Blog Title: use a keyword phrase you want to be known for
Tagline: this will be a slogan type deal or a one sentence description for your website, you can target a keyword phrase here as well.

Note the first one listed on my website is probably already listed on your settings. If you get a warning about your blog not being public, click on Privacy under settings and make sure it is set to "I would like my blog to be visible to everyone...".
Click Save Changes button at the bottom. You are done with your Wordpress Writing Settings!
Edit your Wordpress Reading Settings: (This is only needed if you want your Wordpress blog to look and act like a website instead of a blog. I highly recommend doing this!)
Click on Pages on the left side
Click Add New under Pages
Title this Page either Home or whatever the title of your website is
Write in the content of your home page.
Click Publish on the top right hand side.
Click on Reading under Settings on the left side of your Wordpress blog

Posts page: just leave this set as "- Select -".
Click Save Changes at the bottom.
Now we need to edit your Permalinks settings, which is very important.
Click Permalinks under Settings on the left, here you want to change:
Common Settings: select Custom Structure and type in /%category%/%postname%/
Click Save Changes to update your permalink structure. If you get a warning about your .htaccess file, you either need to change permissions of your .htaccess file or edit your .htaccess file yourself.
